The 14th edition of Guignolée du Dr Julien ended last week, raising $1,727,394 in support of the three centres operated by Fondation du Dr Julien :
- Community Social Pediatric Centre of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve
- Garage à musique, located in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve
- Community Social Pediatric Centre Côte-des-Neiges
These funds will enable the Fondation to continue offering quality professional services to vulnerable children and their families. The previous edition had raised $1,643,000 for the Fondation du Dr Julien.
« I am pleased to see that 80% of donations come from individuals. It is a clear proof of popular support, growing year after year. This helps us to reach out and provide global health services to vulnerable children. We also want to thank the generous donors for over 1,500 gifts that we have receive and distribute to the families”, says Dr. Gilles Julien, president and founder of the Fondation du Dr Julien.
The success of the Guignolée du Dr Julien is due in large part to the dedication and hard work of volunteers. The Fondation would like to thank all of these individuals and its many community partners, in particular those who took part in its media campaign: Joël Le Bigot and the entire team at Samedi et Rien d’Autre, brodcasted live from the Guignolée on ICI Radio-Canada Première; the event’s spokespersons, Ève Christian et Christian Bégin; the radio host Jean-Charles Lajoie and his team at 91.9 Sport FM and RNC Média; Jean-Coutu Group, for their generous $50,000 contribution in the Avatar Campaign on Facebook; and TELUS who operated our call-centre on December 17.
Other community social pediatrics centres certified by the Fondation du Dr Julien also held their own guignolées on December 17th. Together, these guignolées raised $670,889. Each centre will use the funds they have raised to provide professional services to vulnerable children in their respective communities. In 2015, the same centres raised $525,000.
